Plaza Vista – Polsinelli Headquarters

In 2010, VanTrust purchased the property, originally known as The West Edge. Since its acquisition, the determination was made to demolish the existing, partially completed office structure and replace it with a new office building and new identity under the name of Plaza Vista. VanTrust was engaged as the developer for this 254,000-square-foot office building that is currently anchored by the Kansas City law firm, Polsinelli as its corporate headquarters. The building is complete with retail and restaurant space to complement its corporate tenants. Restaurant tenants include JJ’s Bar & Grill (formerly known as JJ’s Restaurant), a contemporary American restaurant, and Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar, a Colorado-based restaurant company who picked Plaza Vista to house its first restaurant outside its home state. Waddell & Reed Financial Advisors also picked Plaza Vista for its advisor branch.

This Class A, ten-story office building also includes an integrated 940-space parking structure. The exterior of the building is comprised of architectural pre-cast concrete and reflective glass to provide transparency and openness. The building is designed to resemble the elegant grid work of the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain and compliment the European style of The Country Club Plaza. The building’s interior is timeless, featuring terrazzo lobby floors, polished plaster, and marble. The building was completed in November 2013 to coincide with the opening of its neighbor, the Hotel Sorella Country Club Plaza, a 132-room luxury hotel.

Project awards include 2014 ULI KC Developments of Distinction Award, 2014 Kansas City Business Journal Capstone Award, 2014 Kansas City EDC Cornerstone Award, 2014 PCI Award – Recognized for Design Excellence and Construction Quality Using, and the designation of Precast Concrete LEED Silver – Interior Design and Construction Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design by the U.S. Green Building Council.
