Case Study - Success Story

SkyCenter One, Tampa, FL

One of the most widely used global standards to recognize buildings that are efficient, cost-effective, and better for occupants and the environment is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), governed by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED Platinum is the highest level of LEED certification.

VanTrust and its strategic partners were able to achieve this rating and more for the SkyCenter One building at Tampa International Airport. This 275,000-square-foot building directly connects to the airport via sky-walk and is the first platinum level LEED-certified new construction project in Tampa, Florida. The building achieved LEED certification for implementing practical and measurable solutions in areas including sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.

“Creating sustainable buildings is about more than achieving the lowest cost and fastest timeline – it requires each phase being met with collaboration, careful consideration and discipline,” said Marc Munago, Executive Vice President, VanTrust Florida. “Earning the LEED Platinum Certification is a reflection of the dedication and passion our team and all of our partners exemplified throughout the planning and development process.”
