As Executive Vice President of VanTrust’s national Science + Technology division, Rich Muller is primarily responsible for identifying, researching, and managing new development opportunities across the life sciences, R&D, institutional, governmental, biotech, pharmaceutical and technology sectors. As a founding member of VanTrust, Rich has been with the company since its founding in 2010, previously serving as the Kansas City Market Lead. He is a registered architect who has worked in the design, construction, and real estate industries since 1993.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Master of Business Administration from the University of Kansas. Rich has cultivated a broad spectrum of commercial real estate experience in a wide variety of product types including office, mixed-use, multifamily, and industrial. He has completed development and redevelopment projects in the Midwest with a total value exceeding $1 billion.
Rich serves on the Johnson County Community College Foundation Board of Directors, the Kansas City Chamber’s Access to Capital Committee and is involved with the Urban Neighborhood Initiative. Rich’s notable local project experience includes the development of new headquarters buildings for Burns & McDonnell, Kiewit Engineering, AMC, Freightquote, Scor, Tortoise Capital, Dairy Farmers of America, and Creative Planning.
