VanTrust Breaks Ground on Fully Preleased New Albany Building

Leading packaging manufacturer to take full occupancy of Innovation II upon completion at year’s end

Just months after completing Innovation I in the New Albany International Business Park, VanTrust Real Estate, LLC continues its momentum, recently breaking ground for the second phase of the project, Innovation II. The entire 234,000-square-foot building has been leased by Rieke, part of TriMas’ Packaging group, a world-class designer and manufacturer of highly engineered closure and dispensing systems for both boutique manufacturers and the world’s top brands in the consumer packaging and industrial end markets. The building is expected to be completed by December 2021.

The quick leasing of Innovation II follows the success of VanTrust’s completion of Innovation I and the immediate signing of two tenants for that building, Voyant Beauty and a leading manufacturer. VanTrust also developed a 302,000 square feet modern bulk distribution center in New Albany that was quickly leased upon completion to Hims & Hers in February of 2020.

“It is a great accomplishment to add a worldwide manufacturing company like Rieke to our growing roster of tenants in New Albany,” said Andy Weeks, executive vice president of VanTrust.  “Leasing the entire building before breaking ground speaks to the strong interest in New Albany and Central Ohio.”

Said Ed Allen, Corporate Manufacturing Director of Rieke, “Since our founding in 1921, our spirit of entrepreneurship has remained a driving force behind our business. As we continue to develop new and innovative packaging solutions, we recognize that expansion requires a good location in a business-friendly community. We’ve found that in the New Albany “Beauty Park” and believe Central Ohio is an ideal location to help us continue to meet our customers’ needs.”

Jeff Lyons with CBRE was the broker for VanTrust.
