As Assistant Controller for VanTrust Real Estate, Jay Silgen is responsible for supporting accounting and finance operations across the business, including internal and external reporting, internal controls, budgeting, project accounting, and financial analysis.

Prior to joining VanTrust, Jay worked at Deloitte in Atlanta, Georgia, most recently as an Audit Senior, where he facilitated financial reporting with company controllers and CFOs and executed valuation testing on international real estate portfolios. Jay also gained experience at Deloitte’s Minneapolis office, where he performed comprehensive audits of client financials and control environments.

Jay earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He went on to earn his Master of Accountancy with a specialization in Audit from the University of Georgia, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
