Burns & McDonnell Headquarters Expansion

The Burns & McDonnell World Headquarters is a four-story, 310,000-square-foot building located at 9450 Ward Parkway. The expansion increases the size of the Burns & McDonnell World Headquarters campus by 74%. The first phase of the new headquarters expansion accommodates 1,400 additional employee-owners. The groundbreaking ceremony for the new building was held in June 2014 and the building was substantially complete in February 2016. A second phase includes another 150,000-square-foot, four-story office building and a parking garage to accommodate at least 700 additional employees. The new office building layout includes four large training rooms, 60 conference rooms and 1,400 desks. The building also features a 250-seat auditorium, a 2,500-square-foot rooftop terrace, a credit union, and a health clinic. All building and site lighting is LED, which contributes to the project exceeding the Energy Code requirements for energy conservation. As a benefit to its employees, Burns & McDonnell includes a 17,000-square-foot child care center with an outdoor playground that can accommodate 144 children.
