Jeff Dillon

Executive Vice President, Acquisitions

Jeff Dillon is responsible for the acquisition and disposition activities of VanTrust pursuant to a disciplined investment strategy.

VanTrust pursues core-plus and value-add acquisition opportunities – representing all major commercial real estate sectors – in excellent locations.  Typical transactions include repositioning challenged assets, maximizing value on the initial purchase of stabilized assets and opportunistic redevelopment.

VanTrust does not have a predetermined investment hurdle-rate and is not required to place capital within certain financial periods; rather, VanTrust has the capacity and motivation to be entrepreneurial yet diligent in its underwriting to promptly deploy large amounts of capital. As a full-service real estate company, we can evaluate potential acquisitions based not only on market considerations, but also in terms of location, tenant credit, lease terms, physical components and operational efficiencies, allowing us to recognize opportunities and execute the most effective strategies for boosting bottom line performance.

Prior to joining VanTrust, Jeff was Vice President of Goldberg Properties, Inc., in Denver, Colorado. Prior to that, Jeff was an attorney with Shughart, Thomson & Kilroy, PC, in the real estate and general corporate practice groups. In that capacity, Jeff negotiated real estate sales, acquisitions, leases and exchanges, analyzed title defects, surveys, environmental reports and arranged permanent and construction loan financing for a variety of clients.

Jeff has a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from the University of Kansas, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law and a Master’s of Science with Honors in Real Estate and Construction Management from the University of Denver Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management at the Daniels College of Business.

Jeff is an active member of the Urban Land Institute – Kansas City District Council where he is a member of the Advisory Board. He is also certified in Argus DCF-Valuation software and passed the LEED Green Associate exam.
