Emily Wieringa joined the Columbus VanTrust office in January of 2022 with more than 20 years of experience working in commercial construction. Emily works with the development team to plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee a myriad of construction projects in her role as Director, Development Services.
Prior to VanTrust, Emily was a senior project manager for a commercial construction company overseeing a multitude of different contracting delivery methods and projects. Emily also spent time in the public sector as an engineer for the Union County engineer’s office where she gained invaluable experience in public infrastructure, including but not limited to applying for and overseeing grants, as well as the ins-and-outs of local government policies and procedures. Ultimately, Emily heeded the call back to vertical construction at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. While there, Emily ascended to the role of Vice President of Planning and Facilities, achieving tremendous insight into the owner’s perspective of constructing, operations and maintenance, all whilst helping to master plan one of the largest zoos in the country and central Ohio’s most popular family attraction. All of this culminates into the unique perspective Emily brings to the Columbus development services team.
Emily graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. She is a licensed engineer in the state of Ohio.Download pdf
