Office Manager, Executive Administrator

Cindy Aitken is our Office Manager, with expertise in Human Resources and Administration. Cindy‚Äôs primary responsibilities at VanTrust include those that enable our team and offices to operate effectively and efficiently. She manages the Administrative function for all five VanTrust office locations, focusing on business processes, operations, culture, and resources. In addition, Cindy serves as executive assistant to VanTrust President, Dave Harrison. 

Cindy has more than twenty five years of experience in the field of human resources. Significant career assignments prior to joining VanTrust include positions with Hallmark Cards in Kansas City as Director, Corporate Education & Training, Corporate Divisions HR Manager, and Professional Staffing/College Relations Manager. She has also held positions in the HR functions of Baxter Healthcare in Chicago, Tenneco, Inc. in Houston, and with a Kansas City based human resources consulting firm. Cindy considers her most compelling experience to date spending several years as a full-time mom. 

Cindy graduated with highest honors from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. She also graduated from the University of Kansas/Hallmark Executive Leadership Program. She served as a Board member of the Midwest College Placement Association, Chair of Shawnee Mission School District College Clinic Program, as well as a founding member for the Learning & Development Best Practices Organization. Cindy is active with groups dedicated to suicide prevention and animal welfare. She admits to being an unceasingly dedicated helicopter mom of two adult children and a shamelessly adoring grandmother of two.
